JOIN US FOR OUR September 16th LUNCHEON Our upcoming luncheon is scheduled for September 16th at Guy's Party Center in Akron. Our guest speaker will be STRS Executive Director, Member Benefits, Christina Elliott. Christina has met with us at each of the past two June luncheons. As mentioned in the last SCRTA Newsletter, Christina is one of three finalists under consideration for the STRS Executive Director position. Grant Fundraiser--

Community Cash Back is Back! Vicky Shaw, co-chair of the SCRTA Scholarship Committee, wishes to remind everyone that the Acme Fresh Market Community Cash Program got underway August 1st. Members are asked to save all Acme Fresh Market receipts that show purchases eligible for rewards at the bottom of the receipt. The program runs through February 15, 2026. Receipts may be sent to Vicky at 1372 Hammel Street, Akron, 44306, or Bill Siegferth at 82 Cedar Woods Drive, Cuyahoga Falls, 44223. Receipts may also be brought to the September 16th and November 11th SCRTA luncheons. Last year we were able to award four $1,500 scholarships largely because of very generous donations from members and proceeds from our two scholarship fundraisers, the Double Good popcorn sale ($1,102.50) and the Cash Back program ($171.96). A flyer explaining the Cash Back Program, including the brand-name items that earn rewards, is attached below.

SCRTA Scholarships

SCRTA will present 4 scholarships during the June luncheon in the amount of $1,500 each to four deserving students. They are LeKhai Baity, Samara Hampton, Rachel Robinette and Emilia Gifford.The number and the amount of the scholarships were made possible through generous member donations, table donation cup collections at each luncheon, proceeds from the 50/50 raffle, and earnings through our participation in the Acme Fresh Market Cash Back Program and the Double Good Popcorn sale.
